  • A beef share is a bulk purchase of beef that stocks your freezer with steaks, roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts. Choose a quarter, half, or whole beef based on your household’s needs and available freezer space.

    • Quarter beef: Approximately 100–125+ pounds of packaged meat. $9.00 per pound of hanging weight. $500 deposit.

    • Half beef: Approximately 225–250+ pounds of packaged meat. $8.50 per pound of hanging weight. $1,000 deposit.

    • Whole beef: Approximately 425–450+ pounds of packaged meat. $8.25 per pound of hanging weight. $1,500 deposit.

    Take-home weights are estimates and will vary with each animal and cutting selections.

  • Your total is calculated by multiplying your share’s actual hanging weight by its price per pound. Processing, cutting, and wrapping are included.

    The estimated pounds of packaged meat listed for each share are not the weights used to calculate your price.

  • Hanging weight is the carcass weight before the beef is cut, trimmed, and packaged. Packaged weight is the finished meat you take home.

    Your take-home weight will be lower than the hanging weight because of moisture loss and the removal of bones and trimmings during processing. Cutting choices also affect the finished weight.

  • Each share includes a mix of ground beef, steaks, roasts, and other cuts for everyday cooking and special occasions.

    Expect a selection such as ribeyes, NY strips, filets, sirloins, chuck eye steaks, brisket, ribs, stew beef, kabobs, stir fry, and sirloin tips. Roasts may include chuck, London broil, sirloin tip, shoulder, tri tip, and others.

  • The share lists include items such as liver, osso bucco, beef fat, dog bones, and soup bones. Whole beef shares also list oxtail, marrow bones, tongue, and kidney.
