Which share fits your freezer?
A share is a lot of good beef, and it takes up real freezer space. Here's a rough idea so you can plan ahead and make a little room before you order.
Quarter
Fits in a large chest freezer or a big chunk of your kitchen freezer.
Good fit for: smaller households and first-time freezer beef buyers.
Half
Usually needs a dedicated chest or upright freezer.
Good fit for: families who cook at home most nights and want to pick their own cuts.
Whole
Clear the deck. Plan on a standalone freezer.
Good fit for: big families, or two households splitting the beef.
Take-home weights are estimates and vary with each animal and your cutting choices.

Beef share FAQs
How much freezer space do I need?
A quarter can fit in a large chest freezer or a big chunk of your kitchen freezer. A half usually needs a dedicated chest or upright freezer. A whole needs a standalone freezer. Not sure about yours? Call or text Marinda at 252.398.7719 and we'll help you figure out what makes sense before you order.
What is a beef share?
A beef share is a bulk purchase of beef that stocks your freezer with steaks, roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts. Choose a quarter, half, or whole beef based on your household's needs and available freezer space.
How is the final price calculated?
Your total is your share's actual hanging weight multiplied by its price per pound. Processing, cutting, and wrapping are included. The estimated take-home pounds are not the weights used to calculate your price.
What is hanging weight?
Hanging weight is the carcass weight before the beef is cut, trimmed, and packaged. Your take-home weight will be lower because of moisture loss and the removal of bones and trimmings. Cutting choices also affect the finished weight.
Can I choose my cuts?
Half beef orders include a cut sheet so you can pick your cutting and packaging preferences, like bone-in or boneless ribeyes and ground beef or burger patties. For quarter or whole beef, contact us before ordering to talk through cutting options and special requests.
When is my beef ready?
Orders are typically ready for pickup 3 to 4 weeks after the initial processing date. We'll let you know when your order is ready.
Is my deposit refundable?
If you cancel before your cut sheet is submitted, 75% of your deposit is refunded. The remaining 25% is nonrefundable. Once your cut sheet is submitted and your processing order is placed, your deposit is fully nonrefundable. This applies to quarter, half, and whole shares.
